Usage

Combivir (Zidovudine/Lamivudine) is a prescription medication used with other HIV medications to control HIV infection. HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) attacks the body's immune system and can lead to AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) if not treated. The active ingredients in Combivir are Zidovudine and Lamivudine. Zidovudine and Lamivudine belong to a class of drugs called nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). CD4 cells are a type of white blood cells that help your body fight infection. Combivir is not a cure for HIV infection.

There may be a drug interaction between Combivir and other drugs such as emtricitabine, ribavirin, cladribine, interferon, fluconazole, amphotericin, vincristine, etc.
