Usage

Zestril (Lisinopril) is a prescription medication used alone or with other medications to treat high blood pressure in adults and children above 6 years old. Zestril is also used to treat congestive heart failure in adults and to improve survival after a heart attack. The active ingredient in Zestril is Lisinopril. Lisinopril belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It works by blocking the formation of angiotensin II, helping the blood vessels relax and improving blood flow.

• Have diabetes;
• Have ever had angioedema;
• Have heart disease;
• Have kidney disease;
• Have low blood pressure;
• Have low white blood cell count;
• Have stomach pain

Inform your doctor about all your medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Zestril can harm your unborn baby. Do not breastfeed when using Lisinopril. It is unknown if this medicine passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding. There may be a drug interaction between Zestril and other drugs, such as aliskiren, amiloride, aspirin, insulin, sirolimus, etc. Do not take Zestril within 36 hours before or after taking a medicine containing sacubitril.
