Levitra and Vardenafil at CanadaPharmacyOnline.com

Brand-name Levitra may not be available at this pharmacy.

Generic vardenafil is sourced from manufacturers that meet applicable regulatory standards for safety, efficacy, and quality. The specific manufacturer of your dispensed medication may vary.

Important Information about Generic Vardenafil:

Generic vardenafil contains the same active ingredient as brand-name Levitra and is required to meet the same safety, effectiveness, and quality standards. This means it is designed to work in the same way as Levitra. Studies have demonstrated similar absorption rates, but individual responses can still vary. If you have any questions about using generic vardenafil, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

For more information about generic drug approval and bioequivalence, you can visit the FDA website: https://www.fda.gov/drugs/buying-using-medicine-safely/generic-drugs

Dosage:

Vardenafil is typically available in 5 mg and 10 mg oral tablets.

Your doctor will determine the appropriate starting and maximum doses based on your individual needs and health situation.

Usage:

Levitra (vardenafil) is a prescription medication primarily to treat erectile dysfunction, known as ED (source). This is a condition where it is difficult or impossible to have an erection naturally. ED can affect men of any age, although it is more common in men over 40. Conditions such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), depression, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol can increase the risk of erectile dysfunction (source).

Vardenafil, a PDE5 inhibitor, helps men get and keep an erection by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. It works by blocking an enzyme that breaks down a substance that relaxes muscles and increases blood flow. This medication can only work if you are sexually stimulated and will not increase your sexual appetite.

Levitra does not cure ED. However, it can help achieve and maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual activity (source). Safe sex practices, including condom use, are always recommended. Consult a healthcare professional with any questions about any medication or sexual health.

Take Levitra exactly as prescribed by your doctor, following the instructions provided in the package leaflet, and consult your doctor for personalized guidance.

The information below summarizes some, but not all, potential side effects, risks, and interactions. Before taking Levitra, it is essential to discuss all potential side effects, risks, and interactions with your doctor or pharmacist.

Side Effects

This is a partial list of side effects; individual reactions can vary. Discuss all potential side effects and risks of Levitra with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this medication.

Common side effects – These are examples of some frequently reported side effects of Levitra, but others are possible. Contact your doctor promptly if any side effects are persistent, worsening, or if you experience any other concerning symptoms.
• Back pain
• Dizziness
• Nausea
• Running or stuffy nose
• Sweating
• Upset stomach

Serious side effects – Stop taking Levitra and seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of the following:
• Allergic reactions (angioedema, hives, itching, rash, trouble breathing)
• Chest pain
• Painful erection lasting 4 hours or longer (priapism)
• Feeling light-headed or fainting
• Irregular heartbeat
• Stroke like symptoms
• Sudden vision loss, sudden hearing loss, ringing in your ears (tinnitus), or other vision changes
• Swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet (especially if accompanied by other symptoms)

Contraindications:

Do NOT take Levitra if you:
• Are allergic to vardenafil or any of the inactive ingredients in Levitra. An allergic reaction can cause rash, itching, swelling, trouble breathing, or anaphylaxis.
• Are taking nitrates, such as nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, or isosorbide mononitrate. Combining nitrates with Levitra can cause a dangerous and potentially fatal drop in blood pressure.
• Are taking guanylate cyclase stimulators, such as riociguat (Adempas). This combination can also lead to dangerously low blood pressure.
• Have had a heart attack or stroke within the past 6 months. Levitra may not be appropriate immediately following these events, and your doctor can assess the risks and benefits in your specific situation.
• Have severe heart failure, unstable angina (chest pain at rest or that occurs frequently), or other serious heart conditions. Levitra can put extra strain on the heart and may not be safe for individuals with these conditions.
• Have a history of non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), an eye condition that causes sudden vision loss. Discuss with your doctor to assess the risks and benefits.
• Have certain hereditary degenerative retinal conditions, such as retinitis pigmentosa. The safety and efficacy of Levitra in these individuals have not been established.

Discuss all your medical conditions, past and present, with your doctor or pharmacist before starting Levitra. This is crucial because certain conditions can affect whether Levitra is right for you. These conditions may include:
Dehydration: Dehydration can increase the risk of side effects with Levitra. Stay well-hydrated, especially if you are physically active or in hot weather.
Low blood pressure (hypotension): If you have low blood pressure, Levitra may further lower it, leading to dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting.
High blood pressure (hypertension): While Levitra is sometimes used to treat erectile dysfunction in men with controlled high blood pressure, it's essential to monitor blood pressure closely.
Kidney or liver problems: If you have kidney or liver problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dose of Levitra.
Peptic ulcers or bleeding disorders: Levitra should be used with caution if you have a history of peptic ulcers or bleeding disorders, as it may increase the risk of bleeding.

Drug Interactions:

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medications you are taking, including prescriptions, over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements, before starting Levitra. Many medications can interact with Levitra, increasing the risk of serious side effects. Do not take Levitra with any of the following:
Nitrates: Such as nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, and isosorbide mononitrate.
Guanylate cyclase stimulators: Such as riociguat (Adempas).

Other medications that can interact with Levitra include, but are not limited to:
PDE5 inhibitors: Such as sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), or avanafil (Stendra). Combining these medications increases the risk of serious side effects.
Alpha-blockers: Such as tamsulosin (Flomax), alfuzosin (Uroxatral), terazosin (Hytrin), and doxazosin (Cardura). Used to treat enlarged prostate. Combining alpha-blockers with Levitra can increase the risk of low blood pressure, dizziness, and fainting. Your doctor can determine if the combination is safe for you and adjust dosages as needed.
Certain antifungal medications: Such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, fluconazole, and voriconazole.
Certain blood pressure medications: While some blood pressure medications are safe to take with Levitra, others can interact. Your doctor needs to know all medications you are taking to assess the risk.
Certain macrolide antibiotics: Such as erythromycin and clarithromycin.
Some HIV protease inhibitors: Such as ritonavir and indinavir.

Grapefruit, alcohol, and marijuana: Grapefruit or grapefruit juice, excessive alcohol consumption, and marijuana use can increase the risk of serious side effects and should be discussed with a doctor. Grapefruit can inhibit enzymes that break down Levitra, leading to higher levels in the body. Alcohol can worsen side effects like dizziness and low blood pressure.

For complete information about potential drug interactions, visit the product monograph webpage: https://pdf.hres.ca/dpd_pm/00055199.PDF and discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or plan to breastfeed before taking Levitra. It is unknown if Levitra can harm an unborn baby. It is also unknown if Levitra passes into breast milk and could affect a nursing infant. Discuss the risks and benefits of using Levitra during pregnancy or breastfeeding with your doctor.

Frequently Asked Questions about Levitra at Canada Pharmacy Online:

Why is Levitra more affordable in Canada than in the United States?

Prescription drug prices, including Levitra, are generally lower in Canada than in the US due to a combination of factors, primarily government price regulations, differing market dynamics, and other economic considerations. In Canada, provincial and federal governments negotiate drug prices with pharmaceutical companies, which often results in lower costs compared to the U.S., where market forces play a more significant role. For more information, see the FAQs on Prescription Drug Importation from the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF): https://www.kff.org/health-costs/issue-brief/faqs-on-prescription-drug-importation/

Can Levitra be cut or split in half?

It is generally not recommended to cut or split Levitra tablets. While there may be no definitive evidence that crushing them changes how the medication works, it is not recommended, as it could potentially affect the drug's effectiveness and safety. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have difficulty swallowing the tablet.
