Usage

Breo Ellipta (Fluticasone furoate/Vilanterol Trifenatate is a prescription inhaler used to treat asthma in adults and children over five years and Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or both (source). Breo Ellipta contains two medications, Fluticasone and Vilanterol. Fluticasone belongs to the class of drugs known as corticosteroids, and it reduces the swelling of the airways in the lungs, making it easier to breathe. Vilanterol belongs to the class of medications known as long-acting beta-agonists. It relaxes the muscles around the airways, opening it up so you can breathe easily. Breo Ellipta should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems and will not replace a rescue inhaler. If you have an asthma attack, use your quick-relief inhaler, such as Salbutamol (as your doctor prescribes). Rinse your mouth with water without swallowing after each use.
