Bryhali Information

Bryhali Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers the brand Bryhali from Canada manufactured by Bausch Health. The generic equivalent of Bryhali is not available.

Dosage

The brand Bryhali is available in the strength of 0.01% lotion.

Usage

Bryhali (Halobetasol Propionate) is a prescription corticosteroid medicine used on the skin (topical) to treat adults with plaque psoriasis. This medication is also used to treat a variety of other skin conditions (such as eczema, dermatitis, rash). Halobetasol reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur in these types of conditions. This medication is a very strong (super-high potency) corticosteroid. It is not known if Bryhali is safe and effective in children under 18 years of age. Bryhali is for us e on the skin only. Do not apply Bryhali in your mouth, eyes, or vagina. Use Bryhali exactly as your doctor tells you to use it. Apply a thin layer of Bryhali to the affected areas 1 time each day and rub in gently. Do not bandage, wrap, or cover the treated skin area(s) unless your doctor tells you to. Do not use Bryhali longer than 8 weeks unless your doctor tells you to.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Bryhali are burning, stinging, itching, dryness (applicationsite dermatitis), upper respiratory tract infection and high blood sugar (hyperglycemia).

Stop using Bryhali and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Bryhali can pass through your skin. Too much Bryhali passing through your skin can cause adrenal glands to stop working;
Cushing’s syndrome, a condition that happens when your body is exposed to too much of the hormone cortisol;
• Effects on growth and weight in children;
• High blood sugar (hyperglycemia);
• Skin reactions at the treated skin site;
• Vision problems. Bryhali may increase your chance of developing cataract(s) and glaucoma.

Warnings and Interactions

You should not take Bryhali if you are allergic to Halobetasol Propionate or any other ingredients of this medicine or to other corticosteroids.

Before you start using Bryhali, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:
• Are pregnant or plan to become pregnant;
• Are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if Bryhali passes into your breast milk. If you use Bryhali and breastfeed, do not apply Bryhali to your nipple or areola to avoid getting Bryhali into your baby’s mouth;
• Have had irritation or other skin reaction to a steroid medicine in the past;
• Have a skin infection;
• Have diabetes;
• Have adrenal gland problems;
• Have liver problems.

Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Especially tell your doctor if you take other corticosteroids medicines by mouth, or injection, or use other products on your skin that contain corticosteroids. Rarely, using corticosteroid medications for a long time or over large areas of skin can make it more difficult for your body to respond to physical stress. Before having surgery or emergency treatment, or if you get a serious illness/injury, tell your doctor or dentist that you are using this medication or have used this medication within the past few months.

Though it is unlikely, this medication may temporarily slow down a child's growth if used for a long time. See the doctor regularly so your child's height can be checked.
