Cafergot Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com offers the brand Cafergot from Turkey manufactured by Assos Pharma. The generic equivalent is currently unavailable. Our customers may also purchase other migraine medications such as Relpax and Amerge.

Dosage

The brand Cafergot comes in the strength of 1 mg /100 mg tablets.

Usage

Cafergot Tablets (Ergotamine/Caffeine) is a prescription medicine that combines ergot alkaloid and caffeine, and it is used to treat migraine type of headache. The active ingredients contained in Cafergot are ergotamine tartrate and caffeine. Cafergot belongs to a group of medicines known as the “ergot alkaloids.” It works by constricting blood vessel walls in the head, relieving dilation that causes migraine headaches. Caffeine helps ergotamine work better and faster by increasing its absorption into the body.

Side Effects and Precautions

Stop using the medication and get medical care if you have an allergic reaction. Signs of an allergic reaction may include difficulty breathing, hives (rash on your body), swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat—If you experience any of these symptoms, please call 911 or seek emergency medical care at the nearest emergency room (ER).

The common side effects of Cafergot may include nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, restlessness, trouble sleeping, dizziness, weakness, and itching. Do not smoke a cigarette while using Cafergot. Nicotine in cigarettes may increase the chance of having an unwanted side effect called “ergotism” (excessive constriction of blood vessels).
