Product Details

Carnitor (Levocarnitine) is a diet supplement used to treat carnitine deficiency. Levocarnitine is a naturally occurring substance that the body needs for energy. It is a substance made in the body from meat and dairy products. Carnitine deficiencies can cause decreased or floppy muscle tone or muscle weakness, fatigue, irritability, delayed motor development, poor feeding in a baby, low blood sugar, or swelling or shortness of breath. Carnitor works by increasing the levels of carnitine in the blood and lessening the symptoms of carnitine deficiency. This medication helps the body use certain long-chain fatty acids for energy and to keep people in good health.

Common side effects of Carnitor include stomach pain, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea. Seek emergency medical attention if you notice more serious side effects, any signs of an allergic reaction, or if you have a seizure. This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects.

To make sure Carnitor is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, a history of seizures, or if you use a blood thinner and you have routine ‘INR’ or prothrombin time tests. Carnitor is not expected to harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is unknown if Carnitor passes into breast milk. You should not breast-feed while using Carnitor. Do not use Carnitor if you are allergic to levocarnitine.
