Usage

Coversyl Plus (Perindopril/Indapamide) is a prescription medication used to treat mild-to-moderate high blood pressure. High blood pressure often ahs no symptoms but it can lead to complications like stroke and heart attacks if left untreated. The active ingredients in Coversyl Plus is Perindopril and Indapamide. Perindopril belongs to class of drugs called angiotensin-conveting enzyme inhibitors. It works by relaxing the blood vessels to allow easy flow of blood. Indapamide belongs to the class of medication called diuretics. It works by getting rid of excess salt and water in the body to control blood pressure.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Coversyl Plus are stomach upset, drowsiness, flushing, headache, and appetite loss.

Stop using Coversyl Plus and contact your doctor immediately if you have any of the following serious side effects such as:
• Chest pain;
• Formation of clusters over the skin;
• Irregular heartbeat;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, hands, mouth, or feet

Warnings and Interactions

Before taking Coversyl Plus, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to any ingredient in the drug or have any other allergies. Coversyl Plus is a tablet, and it should be taken orally (by mouth) as directed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or break it. Take this medication orally on an empty stomach in the morning. High blood pressure often shows no symptoms. You may need to take blood pressure medication for a long period. Take this drug at the same time each day to help you remember. Coversyl Plus may make you more probe to infections. Stay away from people with contagious illnesses such as COVID-19 and flu. This drug may make you dizzy or drowsy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs alertness until you can do it safely. Indapamide may cause increased sensitivity to the sun. Avoid exposure to excessive sunlight. If you must spend time in the sun, use sunblock with a minimum SPF of 30. Avoid drinking alcohol when using this drug. Alcohol may make you more dizzy

Before you start using Coversyl Plus, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:
• Are undergoing dialysis;
• Become pregnant or nursing a child;
• Have a history of angioedema;
• Have diabetes;
• Have galactose intolerance;
• Have high or low potassium levels in your blood;
• Have kidney problems;
• Have liver disease

Inform your doctor about all your medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Coversyl Plus can harm an unborn baby. Use effective birth control to prevent pregnancy when using this drug. It is unknown if Indapamide passes into breast milk. Perindopril passes into breast milk and may harm an effect. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding. There may be a drug interaction between Coversyl Plus and other drugs, such as heparin, digixin, sacubitril, losartan, and amiodarone.
