Usage

Credelio Plus (Lotilancer/Milbemycin Oxime) is a prescription medication used for the seasonal treatment of ticks and fleas in dogs diagnosed or at risk from concurrent gastrointestinal nematode infections. Gastrointestinal nematode infections are caused by parasites that affect the digestive system. A single Credelio Plus treatment effectively treats the indicated gastrointestinal roundworm stages. The active ingredients in Credelio Plus are Lotilancer and Milbemycin Oxime. Lotilancer belongs to a class of drugs called isoxazoline insecticides. Milbemycin Oxime belongs to a class of medications called antihelmintics. They work by affecting the nervous system of parasites, leading to their paralysis and death.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Credelio Plus are vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, hyperactivity, and appetite loss.

Stop administering Credelio Plus and contact your veterinarian immediately if your dog has any of the following serious side effects such as:
• Signs of neurologic adverse reaction, including tremors, ataxia, and seizures

Warnings and Interactions

Before administering Lotilancer/Milbemycin Oxime, tell your veterinarian if your dog is allergic to any ingredient in the drug or has any other allergies. Credelio Plus comes as a chewable tablet and should be taken by mouth (orally) as directed by your veterinarian. Do not give to puppies younger than 8 weeks old or dogs weighing less than 4.4 lbs (1.4 kg). Credelio Plus is not 100% effective in preventing all strains of heartworm. All dogs older than 6 months should be tested for existing heartworm infection before the first treatment. If your dog is a Collie or has p-glycoprotein deficiency with MDR or ABCB1-1 delta gene mutation, it is more prone to side effects of this drug. Use this drug only when prescribed by your veterinarian. Repeated use may result in parasite resistance to the drug. Wash your hands immediately after handling the drug. Credelio Plus is not for human use. In case of accidental ingestion, contact your doctor immediately.

Before you start administering Credelio Plus, inform your veterinarian about your dog's medical history, especially if it:
• Has a history of neurological disorders or seizures;
• Is lactating;
• Is pregnant or breeding

Inform your veterinarian about all your pet's medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Tell your veterinarian if your dog is pregnant or breeding. It is not known if you can safely administer this drug in pregnant or breeding dogs. Inform your vet if your dog is lactating. The safe use of Credelio Plus in lactating dogs has not been established. There may be a drug interaction between Credelio Plus and other drugs.
