Usage

Eldopaque Cream (Hydroquinone) is a prescription cream used to lighten the dark patches of skin also called hyperpigmentation, melasma (liver spots, age spots, freckles) caused by pregnancy, birth control pills, hormone medicine, or injury to the skin. This cream may help prevent spots from returning due to sunlight or ultraviolet light exposure. Hydroquinone works by blocking the process in the skin that leads to discoloration.

It is recommended to apply this topical medication to a small area of unbroken skin before start using it, then check the area within 24 hours to make sure you won’t have any serious reaction to it.

Side Effects and Precautions

Though very rare, an anaphylaxis allergic reaction can happen in rare cares. Stop using the medication and get medical care if you have an allergic reaction. Signs of an allergic reaction may include difficulty breathing, hives (rash on your body), swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat—If you experience any of these symptoms, please call -911 or seek emergency medical care at the nearest emergency room (ER).

Warnings and Interactions

You should not use Eldopaque cream if you are allergic to Hydroquinone or sunscreens, or any other medications. Before you start using this cream, tell your doctor about your medical history and if you are using any antibiotics or if you have ever had:
• Asthma
• Liver or kidney disease

Avoid getting Hydroquinone cream in your eyes and on your lips or inside your nose or mouth. This medication may make you sunburn more easily. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) when you are outdoors. Hydroquinone cream may make your skin more sensitive to the cold and wind. Protect your skin with clothing and use moisturizing lotion as needed. Do not use skin products that can cause irritation such as harsh soaps, shampoos, or skin cleansers or hair coloring or permanent chemicals, hair removers or waxes. Tell your doctor about all the medications you use including prescription, OTC, and herbal products. There may be a drug interaction between Hydroquinone and other medications. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use this medication on anyone under 12 years of age without your doctor's advice.
