Usage

Embeline (Clobetasol Propionate) is a topical prescription medication used to treat the itching, redness, dryness, crusting, scaling, inflammation, and discomfort of various scalp and skin conditions, including psoriasis and eczema. The active ingredient in Embeline cream is clobetasol propionate. Clobetasol belongs to the class of medications called corticosteroids. It works by activating natural substances in the skin to reduce swelling, redness, and itching. Do not use this product to treat diaper rash.

Side effects and precautions

The common side effects of Embeline are skin atrophy, discomfort skin, dry skin, striae, burning, cracking/fissuring of the skin, folliculitis, irritation, numbness, pruritus, and stinging.

Stop using Embeline and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Redness, warmth, swelling, oozing, or severe irritation of any treated skin;
• Possible signs of absorbing this medicine through your skin such as weight gain in your face and shoulders, slow wound healing, skin discoloration, thinning skin, increased body hair, tiredness, mood changes, menstrual changes, sexual changes;
• Worsening of your skin condition

Warnings and interactions

This medication comes as a cream, solution, or ointment for use on the skin only. Do not let Clobetasol topical get into your eyes or mouth, and do not swallow it. Avoid use in the genital and rectal areas and skin creases and armpits unless directed by your doctor. You should wash and dry your hands before using. Clean and dry the affected area. Apply a thin film of medication to the affected area and gently rub in, usually 2 times daily or as directed by your doctor. Do not bandage, cover, or wrap the area unless directed by your doctor. After applying the medication, wash your hands unless you use this medication to treat the hands. When applying this medication near the eyes, avoid getting it in the eyes because this may worsen or cause glaucoma. Also, avoid getting this medication in the nose or mouth. If you get the medicine in these areas, rinse with plenty of water.

Children who use Clobetasol topical may have an increased risk of side effects, including slowed growth and delayed weight gain. Do not use Embeline cream or solution to treat diaper rash or infection. Talk to your child's doctor about the risks of applying this medication to your child's skin. Your skin condition should improve during the first 3-4 weeks of your treatment. Reach out to your doctor if your symptoms do not improve during this time.

Before you start using Embeline, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
• An allergic reaction to Clobetasol;
• Acne or rosacea;
• Eye infection;
• Skin infection, broken skin, cuts, or itchy skin

Tell your doctor about all the medications you use, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Corticosteroid products should not be used during pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks. If you become pregnant while using this medication, contact your doctor immediately. It is not known if topical Clobetasol passes into breast milk. If you are a breastfeeding mother and are using this medication, it may affect your baby. Talk to your doctor about whether you should continue breastfeeding. There may be a drug. There may be a drug interaction between Embeline and other drugs such as aldesleukin, other topical medications containing corticosteroids, and topical medications with irritating effects.
