Evorel Information

Evorel Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers the brand Evorel from the United Kingdom, manufactured by Janssen-Cilag. The generic version is not available. Our customers may also purchase other medications for Women's Health, such as Estalis Patches from Canada. For more information and further details, please call Customer Service at 1866.920.3784.

Dosage

Evorel is available in the strength of 1.6 mg, 3.2 mg, 4.8 mg, and 6.4 mg Patches.

Usage

Evorel (Estradiol) is a prescription medicine used to treat symptoms of menopause such as hot flushes, night sweats or mood swings, vaginal dryness or itching, and painful sexual intercourse in menopausal women caused by a lack of naturally occurring estrogens and progestogens. The active ingredient in the Evorel patches is Estradiol. Estradiol belongs to the hormone replacement therapy (HRT) group of medicines. It works by releasing Estradiol through the skin into the bloodstream at a constant rate. Kindly note that the Evorel patch is not a form of contraceptive.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Evorel are breast pain, tenderness, enlargement, dizziness, menstrual bleeding or spotting, feeling or being sick, headache or migraine, stomach cramps, and weight gain.

Stop using Evorel and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• An unusually severe headache that does not respond to medication;
• Sudden chest pain;
• Sudden breathlessness, or if you cough up blood;
• Swelling or pain in a leg;
• Yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes (jaundice)

Warnings and Interactions

You should apply the patches to clean, dry, unbroken areas of your skin, preferably below your waist. You should not apply the patches near your breasts. Each time you use a patch, apply it to a different area so that your skin doesn't become irritated. There are different types of patches, so it is a good idea to check that you have the same patches each time you collect a prescription.

You should not apply the patch in any of the following areas:
• On your chest or above the waist;
• On skin that is irritated or cut;
• On areas of skin that are in contact with tight clothes, e.g., waistbands;
• To areas of skin where you have used moisturizer or other creams;
• To the same area of skin twice in a row

Evorel patch is not a form of contraceptive; hence it does not prevent you from getting pregnant. It would be best if you asked your doctor for an effective form of contraceptive to prevent you from getting pregnant while treating your condition. You should follow your doctor's prescription carefully. The patch will need to be changed twice a week. Change your patch on the same two days every week. When removing your patch, fold it in half to stick together. It would be best if you discarded it in the household bin. Contact your doctor immediately if you discover any unusual symptoms in your body.

Before you start using Evorel, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
• An inherited blood disorder such as porphyria;
• Breast cancer or any lumps in your breast, or family history of breast cancer;
• Diabetes mellitus;
• High blood pressure or a heart disorder;
• Kidney diseases;
• Liver problem;
• Migraine-like headaches;
• Unexplained or undiagnosed vaginal bleeding

Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. You should stop using this medicine and consult your doctor immediately after discovering you are pregnant. Evorel patches should not be used by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. There may be a drug interaction between Evorel and other drugs such as carbamazepine, efavirenz, phenytoin, modafinil, rifampicin, primidone, oxcarbazepine, phenobarbital, and rifabutin.
