We offer our customers other Anti-inflammatory medications such as Arthrotec and Colchicine. For more information and further assistance, please call Customer Service toll-free at 1866.920.3784.

Dosage

Ibuprofen is available in tablets with the strength of 200 mg, 400 mg, and 600 mg.

Usage

Ibuprofen (Ibuprofen) is a prescription medication that relieves mild to moderate pain, including toothache, back pain, pain from arthritis, and menstruation. Ibuprofen may be used with an opioid (such as morphine) to relieve moderate to severe pain. It is also effective in reducing elevated body temperature (fever). Ibuprofen is the active substance in this medication. Ibuprofen belongs to the class of medication called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID). It works by blocking your body's production of certain natural substances that cause inflammation. This effect helps to decrease swelling, pain, or fever.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Ibuprofen are nausea, vomiting, dizziness, gas, headache, and abdominal pain.

Stop using Ibuprofen and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the severe side effects such as:
• Passage of bloody or back tarry stool;
• Stomach or severe abdominal pain that doesn't go away;
• Sudden vision changes;
• Trouble speaking;
• Unusual sweating, confusion, and weakness on one side of the body;
• Vomit that looks like coffee grounds

Warnings and Interactions

Before using Ibuprofen, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it, aspirin or other NSAIDs (such as naproxen, celecoxib), or any other allergies. Ibuprofen is a tablet in different dosage forms and should be taken orally with a cup of water. If you take it by mouth, it takes 20 to 30 minutes to work. Always take Ibuprofen with food or a drink of milk to reduce the chance of an upset stomach. Please do not take it on an empty stomach. Follow your prescription label carefully, and do not use more than the prescribed dosage, irrespective of the severity of the pain. Do not take it for more than ten days (or three days if you're under 18) unless your doctor says otherwise. Discuss with your doctor if there are no changes in your condition despite using your medicine.

Before you start using Ibuprofen, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
• Asthma or worsening asthma;
• A history of agranulocytosis;
• Intestinal ulcers;
• Kidney problems;
• Liver problems;
• Recent heart attack or hypertension;
• Stroke

Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Ibuprofen is not usually recommended for pregnant women, especially those in their second trimester (above 20 weeks). Ibuprofen can affect a baby's blood circulation and kidney function. You can take Ibuprofen or use it on your skin while breastfeeding. It is one of the painkillers that are usually recommended for breastfeeding mothers. If your baby is not feeding as well as usual, speak to your doctor or midwives. There may be a drug interaction between Ibuprofen and other drugs such as warfarin, aspirin, steroids, naproxen, citalopram, and glimepiride.
