Lopressor Information

Lopressor Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com has an inventory of the generic Metoprolol Tartrate from Canada by different manufacturers such as Apotex (known as Apo-Metoprolol Type L or Apo-Metoprolol OL). Metoprolol is available under various brands such as Lopressor and Toprol. The brand Lopressor is currently unavailable.

Dosage

Generic Metoprolol Tartrate is sold in the strength of 25 mg, 50 mg, and 100 mg tablets.

Usage

Lopressor (Metoprolol Tartrate) is a prescription medication used to treat patients who are suffering from high blood pressure. It is also used to treat angina, which is pain in the chest as well as to prevent heart attacks. Toprol contains the active ingredient metoprolol, which belongs to the group of drugs called beta-blockers. Beta blockers work by preventing certain chemicals from being produced in the body, which are responsible for causing problems with the heart and blood pressure. When patients cease treatment of Toprol, the dosage must be reduced slowly to prevent severe side effects such as exacerbations of angina and other related symptoms.
