Lotensin online Canadian Pharmacy

Lotensin Information

Lotensin Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers the brand Lotensin also called Cibacen from Turkey, manufactured by Meda Pharms. The generic Benazepril is available from Canada by a different manufacturer. Our customers may also purchase other blood Pressure medications such as Altace and Prinivil.

Dosage

Lotensin is available in the strength of 10 mg tablets only. The generic Benazepril is available in the strength of 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg tablets.

Usage

Lotensin (Benazepril) is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), congestive heart failure, and chronic renal failure. The active ingredient in the Lotensin tablet is Benazepril. Benazepril belongs to the group of medicine called Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI). It works by preventing an enzyme in the body from producing angiotensin II, a substance that narrows blood vessels. This narrowing can cause high blood pressure and forces the heart to work harder. Angiotensin II also releases hormones that raise blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure may reduce your risk of a stroke or heart attack.

Lotensin Side Effects

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Lotensin are cough, headache, dizziness, fatigue, sleepiness, and nausea.

Stop using Lotensin and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Blurry of vision;
• Decreased sexual activity or low libido;
• Eye pain or lacrimation or continuous tearing;
• Recurrent chest pain that limits your daily activities;
• Sudden loss of consciousness;
• Tingling sensation in your hands or foot

Warnings and Interactions

Before taking Benazepril (Lotensin), tell your doctor if you are allergic to it, other ACE inhibitors (such as lisinopril), or any other allergies. Benazepril comes as a tablet to be swallowed with a cup of water. It is usually taken once or twice a day with or without food. To help you remember to take Benazepril, take it around the same time(s) every day. You should carefully follow the directions on your prescription label and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand.

This medication may make you have a dry cough. It is usual for it. However, inform your doctor if your cough is productive of blood- or blood-stained sputum. You may feel dizzy while taking this medication. To relieve you of this side effect, you should get up slowly from a lying position.

Take Benazepril precisely as directed by your doctor (your prescribed dosage). Increasing your dosage will not speed up your recovery but only worsen your condition. Your doctor will probably start you on a low dose of Benazepril and gradually increase your dose. Benazepril controls high blood pressure but does not cure it. Continue to take Benazepril even if you feel well. Reach out to your doctor if the medication seems not to work for you, such as if your blood pressure remains very high. Do not stop taking Benazepril without talking to your doctor.

Before you start using Lotensin, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
• Electrolyte imbalance such as elevated potassium level;
• Kidney disease;
• Liver disease (including hepatitis B infection);
• Skin cancer;
• Urinary problems such as difficulty in making urine

Tell your doctor about all the medications you use, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It would be best to discontinue as soon as possible when pregnancy is detected. It affects the renin-angiotensin system, causing oligohydramnios, which may result in fetal injury or death. We always encourage you to have an open conversation with your doctor about your medication. Lotensin passes into breast milk. While there have been no reports of harm to nursing infants, consult your doctor before breastfeeding. There may be a drug interaction between Lotensin and other drugs such as aliskiren, sacubitril/valsartan, aldesleukin, amiloride, and aspirin.
