Usage

Oxsoralen (Methoxsalen) is a prescription medication used with controlled ultraviolet light (UVA) to treat severe skin conditions, including severe psoriasis, eczema, vitiligo, and some cutaneous lymphomas (a type of cancer that affects the skin and blood and sometimes the lymph nodes and other organs. Psoriasis is a condition where the skin cells are growing too quickly. The active ingredient in Oxsoralen is Methoxsalen. Methoxsalen belongs to the class of medication called Psoralen, which is a topical antipsoriatic. It increases the skin's sensitivity to ultraviolet light, increases skin sensitivity to UVA radiation, and reduces cancer cell growth. Oxsoralen helps to slow the overgrowth of skin cells.
