Usage

PregVit (Multivitamins and supplements) is a prescription supplement used by women planning to become pregnant, who are pregnant and who recently had a baby. PregVit also supplies the body with folic acid, especially for those taking medications used for seizure control or known to decrease folate levels or require a high dose of the folic acid supplement, in their doctor's opinion. The active ingredient in PregVit is multiple vitamins and minerals, such as folic acid. The supplements and minerals belong to the class of medication called pre and postpartum supplements. It works by supplying the body with specific amounts of various nutrients necessary to support the nutritional needs of women during and immediately after pregnancy. Please note that this does not replace a healthy diet during or after pregnancy.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of PregVit are constipation, diarrhoea, nausea, and gastric irritation.

Stop using PregVit and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Decreased appetite;
• Non-relieving headache;

• Severe stomach pain;
• Weakness

Warnings and Interactions

You should not take PregVit if you are allergic to deferiprone or any of the ingredients in PregVit. It comes as a tablet and should be taken with a cup of water. It comes in various designs tablets. The pink tablets should be taken on an empty stomach with a full glass of water. It would be best if you waited at least one hour before eating to allow time for the iron to be absorbed. The blue tablet should be taken at least 4 hours after the pink tablet. You should swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush or split the tablets. It is important to take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor may prescribe PregVit for 2-3 months before you get pregnant, up to 10-12 weeks after the last menstrual period, or throughout the pregnancy. You should follow your doctor's prescription carefully.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue with your regular schedule. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. • Family history of seizure or epilepsy;
• kidney problems such as hypercalcemia and kidney stone;
