Thyroid Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers the brand Thyroid from Canada manufactured by Erfa. The generic version is not available. We provide our customers with a huge selection of medications for treating Thyroid Disorders such as Synthroid. For more information and further assistance, please call Customer Service at 1866.920.3784.

Dosage

The Thyroid is available in the strength of 30 mg, 60 mg and 125 mg tablets.

Usage

Thyroid (Thyroid) is a prescription medication used to treat an underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism). The thyroid gland makes thyroid hormones that help control energy levels and growth. Levothyroxine is usually taken to replace the missing thyroid hormone thyroxine. Levothyroxine is a synthetic version of a hormone called thyroxine. It belongs to a group of medications called the thyroid group. It replaces thyroxine if the thyroid gland cannot produce it and prevents the symptoms of hypothyroidism. This thyroid product works almost immediately, but it may take weeks before you notice the effect of this medication.

Side Effects

Stop using the medication and get medical care if you have an allergic reaction. Signs of an allergic reaction may include difficulty breathing, hives (rash on your body), swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat—If you experience any of these symptoms, please call 911 or seek emergency medical care at the nearest emergency room (ER).

The common side effects of Thyroid are cramps, flushing, increased pulse, palpitation, insomnia and anxiety.

Stop using Thyroid and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Diarrhea;
• Feeling restless and having difficulty falling asleep;
• Headache;
• Muscle cramps;
• Persistent nausea and vomiting;
• Sweating profusely;
• Tremor

The above information is a summary and may not contain all the side effect information. If you still have questions about side effects, you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist so they can address all your concerns.

Warnings and Interactions

Before you start taking thyroid medication, your doctor may conduct a blood test to check the level of thyroxine in your body. It comes as a tablet, and you swallow the tablet whole with a drink of water. It would be best to take Levothyroxine once daily in the morning, at least 30 minutes before breakfast, or a beverage containing caffeine, like tea or coffee. Food and caffeinated drinks can stop your body from taking in Levothyroxine properly, so it does not work either. If you stop taking Levothyroxine, your symptoms are likely to come back. You should use thyroid medicine according to your doctor's prescription and dose. Talk to your doctor if you have signs of an underactive thyroid, such as feeling tired, feeling depressed and unintended weight gain.

Before you start using Thyroid, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
• Diabetes mellitus;
• Heart problems such as angina, heart failure or heart disease;
• High blood pressure (hypertension);
• kidney problems;
• Liver problems

Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Levothyroxine doses need to be carefully monitored during pregnancy. If you're planning to become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, you must talk to your doctor to get the proper care for you and your baby. Before breastfeeding our child, it would be best to discuss with your doctor if you are treating hypothyroidism with Levothyroxine. There may be a drug interaction between Thyroid and other drugs, such as sodium iodide I-131 and Sucroferric oxyhydroxide.
