Trandate (Labetalol) is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure. High blood pressure is when the force of blood pushing against the artery walls is consistently too high. • Have very low blood pressure

Inform your doctor about all your medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Trandate can harm your unborn baby. Taking this drug during pregnancy can cause breathing problems, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, or slow heartbeats in your newborn baby. Do not breastfeed when using Labetalol. This medicine passes into breast milk in trace amounts and may harm a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding. There may be a drug interaction between Trandate and other drugs, such as aminophylline, cimetidine, insulin, albuterol, desipramine, amiodarone, ibuprofen, quinine, ergotamine, aldesleukin, etc.
