Veltin Information

Veltin Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com offers the brand Veltin Gel from Canada also called Biacna Topical Gel by Bausch Health and from India also called Retino AC Gel by Johnson & Johnson. The generic version is not available. Our customers may also purchase other acne medications such as Retin A.

Dosage

Veltin is available in the strength of 1.2%/0.025%/60 gm and 1%/0.025%/15 gm gel.

Usage

Veltin (Clindamycin Phosphate/Tretinoin) is a prescription combination topical gel used to treat acne in adults and children 12 years and older. Clindamycin Phosphate is an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria that causes acne. Tretinoin belongs to the class of medications called retinoids (a form of vitamin A) and it reduces the amount of oil released by oil glands in your skin and helps the skin renew itself more quickly. Veltin gel helps to decrease the number and severity of acne pimples and helps the pimple that does develop to heal more quickly.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Veltin may include itching where the gel is applied, mild skin irritation, dryness or peeling, and mild skin redness. Seek emergency medical attention if you have any signs of an allergic reaction. Stop using this medication and call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Burning or stinging;
• Severe redness or scaling of treated skin areas;
• Watery or bloody diarrhea

Warnings and Interactions

You should not use Veltin Gel if you are allergic to Clindamycin or Tretinoin or if you are also taking erythromycin or other skin medications containing erythromycin or if you have:
• Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis;
• Ever had severe diarrhea caused by an antibiotic medication;
• Inflammation of your intestines

Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history especially if you have:
• A history of stomach or intestinal disorders;
• Any other allergies

Do not wash treated skin or apply other skin products for at one hour after you use Veltin gel. Avoid using other medications on the areas you treat with Veltin gel unless advised by your doctor. This medication can make you sunburn more easily. Apply sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) every morning and throughout the day as needed. Avoid exposure to sunlight or tanning beds. Protect your skin with clothing and use a moisturizing cream as needed because Veltin gel may make your skin more sensitive to weather extremes. Tell your doctor about all the medications you use including prescription, OTC, herbal products, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Veltin gel and other medications. It is unknown whether Veltin will harm an unborn baby. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Veltin gel should not be used by children younger than 12 years old.
