Usage

Ventolin Diskus (Salbutamol Sulfate) is a prescription medication used to prevent and treat wheezing and shortness of breath caused by breathing problems (such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). The drug is also used to prevent asthma caused by exercise. Ventolin Diskus is a quick-relief drug in adults and children older than four years old. The active ingredient in Ventolin Diskus is Salbutamol Sulfate. Salbutamol Sulfate belongs to a class of drugs called bronchodilators. It works by relaxing the muscles around the airways so that they open up and you can breathe more easily.

Do not increase your dose or use this drug more often than prescribed without your doctor's approval. Using too much of this medication will increase your risk of serious side effects. This drug should be inhaled through the mouth only. Avoid contact with eyes. If this happens, rinse with plenty of water immediately. To prevent exercise-induced asthma, use this medicine 15 to 30 minutes before you exercise. The effects of Ventolin should last about 4 to 6 hours. This drug can make you dizzy. Do not drive or do anything that requires alertness until you can safely do so. Stand up slowly from a sitting or lying position to reduce your risk of falls. Do not take alcohol when using this drug. Alcohol can increase your risk of side effects.
