Product Details
Veregen is an herbal ointment product made from green tea leaves, which is used to treat genital and anal warts in adults. It is not mean for internal use—so do not use inside the vagina, cervix, rectum, or urethra. This product will not cure genital or anal warts, it will only help treat their symptoms. It will not keep you from spreading genital or anal warts to others.
The common side effects may include mild redness or burning of treated skin, or mild pain, itching, or discomfort.
The serious side effects may include:
• Allergic reaction:
o Difficulty breathing
o Hives
o Swelling of the face, lips, or tongue
• Painful sores or blisters where the ointment was applied
• Severe burning, itching, or pain
• Severe redness or swelling of treated skin
You should not use Veregen if you are allergic to sinecatechins.
Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you take including OTC and herbal medications.
It is unknown how Veregen might affect an unborn or nursing infant. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or nursing to discuss the risks.
Precautions
Be sure to take Veregen exactly as your doctor describes for you. Follow all instructions that come with your medication.
Follow your doctor’s advice on needing eyedrops, ointment, or special contact lenses if receiving these injections for eye muscle conditions.
Apply the ointment 3x per day to affected external areas. Use only a small amount to each wart by dabbing it on the wart and leaving a thin layer it.
Do not take this medication by mouth or put on open sores/wounds.
Wash your hands before and after applying the medication.
Store this medication at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and light. Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use. You can store the medication in the refrigerator but do not freeze.
There may be an interaction between Veregen and other medications, though it’s not likely. Talk to your doctor before you use other medications while on Veregen.
To ensure this medication is right for you, be sure to tell your doctor if any of the following conditions apply to you:
• A weak immune system (caused by disease or certain medicines)

Do not give this medication to anyone younger than 18 years old without medical advice.
Questions and Answers
1. How should I dress to make sure Veregen is able to work properly once it’s applied?
Answer: You will want to wear loose-fitting clothing over the treated areas of skin. Do not cover the warts with bandages, sanitary napkins, or other protective coverings.
2. I’m uncircumcised. Do I need to do anything special when using Veregen?
Answer: Men who are uncircumcised should wash under the foreskin of the penis each day, to ensure the area is clean and does not have a build-up of ointment.
3. How long should I continue to use Veregen?
Answer: Continue using this medication until all warts have cleared up. Be sure to wash any ointment off before sexual intercourse, even when using a condom, as the ointment can weaken the condom.
