The active ingredient in Wake Ups is Caffeine. Caffeine belongs to the class of medications called respiratory stimulants (Phosphodiesterase enzyme inhibitors). It works by stimulating the central nervous system, heart, muscles, and the centers that control blood pressure. This medication should not be used in children below 12 years.

The common side effects of Wake Ups are nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, trouble sleeping, and increased urination.

Stop using Wake Ups and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Anxiety;
• Insomnia and restlessness;
• Palpitations;

Warnings and Interactions

Before taking caffeine, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or other xanthine drugs (such as theophylline) or if you have any other allergies. It comes as a tablet and should be taken orally with a cup of water. Take 1 tablet every 4 hours as required. Do not take more than 5 tablets in a day. Taking your tablet before eating or on an empty stomach is recommended. This medication should only be used as needed, not regularly. Follow your doctor's direction carefully and do not increase your dose; take it more often than directed or regularly for a long time. If you suddenly stop using this medication, you may have withdrawal symptoms such as headaches, mood changes such as irritation, and nervousness. To help prevent withdrawal, your doctor may lower your dose slowly. Withdrawal is more likely if you have used caffeine for a long time or in high doses. Tell your doctor or pharmacist right away if you have withdrawal symptoms. Talk with your doctor if this medication stops working well. Tell your doctor if your condition lasts, gets worse, or continues to occur again.

Before you start using Wake Ups, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
• Heart disease such as irregular heart rhythm, recent heart attack;
• High blood pressure;
• Overactive bladder;
• Psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia;
• Stomach or intestinal ulcers;
• Taking lithium or treating bipolar disorder

Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. This drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. There may be a drug interaction between Wake Ups and other drugs such as lithium, fezolinetant, isocarboxazid, linezolid, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline transdermal, and tranylcypromine. Store your medication in a safe place and away from the reach of children.
