Warnings and Interactions

You should not use Xalatan if you are allergic to Latanoprost or to benzalkonium chloride or to any ingredients of the medication. Before you start using Xalatan, tell your doctor if you have any of the following medical conditions or surgery:
• Eye surgery;
• Eye infection or injury;
• Retinal detachment;
• Other eye problems

Xalatan can darken the color of your eyes or eyelids and lashes. It may cause your eyelashes to grow longer, thicker or darken in color. Do not use Xalatan while wearing contact lenses. Wait at least 15 minutes after using Xalatan before putting your lenses in. If you are using other eye medications (e.g., drops or ointments), wait at least 5 minutes before applying other products. Store the unopened bottle of Xalatan eye drops in a refrigerator. You should not use Xalatan eye drops if it has been longer than 6 weeks since you opened the bottle. This eye drop can cause blurred vision or other vision problems. Do not drive or perform any activity that requires alertness until you can do it safely. Talk to your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, OTC, and herbal medications. Also tell them about any vitamins and supplements you take. There may be an interaction between Xalatan and other medications. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Xalatan should NOT be used by anyone younger than 18 years old.
