Xyzal Information

Xyzal Details (Brand and Generic)

Canadapharmacyonline.com offers the brand Xyzal from the United Kingdom, which is manufactured by UCB Pharma. The generic Levocetirizine Tablet comes from India also called Levorid manufactured by Cipla. Our customers may also order EpiPen and other Allergy medications. For more information, please call Customer Service toll-free at 1866.920.3784.

Dosage

The brand Xyzal and its generic Levocetirizine are available in the strength of 5 mg tablets only.

Usage

Xyzal (Levocetirizine) is a prescription medication used to relieve symptoms of perennial allergies such as watery eyes, sneezing, itchy nose, and hives. The immune system reacts to foreign substances, such as pollen and pet dander, inducing allergic reactions. Levocetirizine is also used to treat itching and swelling caused by hives in adults and children at least six months old. The active ingredient in Xyzal is Levocetirizine. Levocetirizine belongs to the class of medication called antihistamines. It works by blocking histamine, a natural substance the body produces during an allergic reaction. Levocetirizine is not used to treat serious allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Xyzal are cough, dry mouth, drowsiness, fever, and tiredness.

Stop using Xyzal and contact your doctor immediately if you have any of the following serious side effects such as:
• Difficulty urinating;
• Signs of an allergic reaction such as hives, breathing difficulties, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat;
• Worsening allergy symptoms

Warnings and Interactions

Before taking Levocetirizine, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to other antihistamines (such as hydroxyzine) or have any other allergies. Xyzal is a tablet, and it should be taken orally (by mouth) with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually in the evening. A child's dose will be based on the age of the child. Do not give a child more than the prescribed dose. Their bodies can absorb twice as much of the same dose size of Levocetirizine as an adult's body. Xyzal can cause drowsiness. Do not drive or carry out hazardous activities until you know how the drug affects you. Inform your doctor if your symptoms do not improve. Do not drink alcohol when using Xyzal. Alcohol can increase the side effects of the medicine.

Before you start using Xyzal, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:
• Become pregnant or nursing a child;
• Have diabetes;
• Have gallbladder problems;
• Have kidney disease;
• Have liver disease;
• Have phenylketonuria (PKU);
• Have urination problems

Inform your doctor about all your medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Levocetirizine is not expected to harm an unborn baby. This medicine should be used during pregnancy only if the benefits outweigh the risks. Levocetirizine passes into breast milk and may affect your baby. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding. There may be a drug interaction between Levocetirizine and other drugs such as ritonavir, theophylline, Benadryl, tramadol, and Xanax.
