Ziac (Bisoprolol/Hydrochlorothiazide) is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure. This damages your arteries over time and can lead to serious complications like heart attack and stroke. The active ingredients in Ziac are Bisoprolol and Hydrochlorothiazide. Bisoprolol belongs to a beta blocker. It works by blocking the effect of certain natural chemicals on your heart to slow your heartbeat and reduce blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide belongs to a class of drugs called diuretics. It works by increasing the amount of urine your body makes, helping it eliminate extra salt and water to relax the blood vessels and let blood flow easily.

Stopping this drug suddenly can make your condition worse. You can easily become dehydrated when taking Ziac. Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated during exercise and in hot weather.
