Usage

Clindesse (Clindamycin Phosphate) is a prescription medication used to treat bacterial vaginosis in women who are not pregnant. Bacterial vaginosis is an infection caused by changes in the amount of bacteria in your vagina. The active ingredient in Clindesse is Clindamycin Phosphate. Clindamycin Phosphate belongs to a class of drugs called antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Clindesse are mild stomach upset and vaginal discharge.

Stop using Clindesse and contact your doctor immediately if you have any of the following serious side effects such as:

Consult your doctor about other forms of barrier protection or birth control during this time. Use a sanitary napkin rather than a tampon to prevent staining of clothes and bed linens.

Before you start using Clindesse, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:
• Become pregnant or nursing a child;
• Have Chron's disease;
• Have gastrointestinal disease

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is unknown if Clindesse will harm your unborn baby.
