Corgard Information

Corgard Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers the generic version of Corgard (Nadolol) from Canada, United States and New Zealand by different manufacturers. There is no brand version available.

Dosage

The generic Nadolol is available in the strength of 20 mg, 40 mg, 80 mg and 160 mg tablets.

Usage

Corgard (Nadolol) is a beta-blocker that affects the heart and circulation. Corgard is used to treat angina or hypertension; it works by relaxing blood vessels and slowing heart rate to improve blood flow and decrease blood pressure. Corgard is also used sometimes to prevent migraine headaches, to treat irregular heartbeat, and to treat tremors caused by Parkinson's disease. Talk to your doctor about the possible risks of using this medication for your condition.

Use Corgard exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Do not stop taking Corgard without talking to your doctor. Suddenly stopping Corgard may cause chest pain or heart attack; your doctor will probably decrease your dose gradually.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Corgard are numbness or cold feeling in your hands or feet, dizziness, feeling tired, upset stomach, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, vision problems, mood changes, confusion and memory problems. Report any new or worsening symptoms to your doctor.

Stop using Corgard and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• A light-headed feeling, like you might pass out; fainting;
• Bronchospasm i.e. wheezing, chest tightness, trouble breathing;
• Shortness of breath, even with mild exertion, swelling, rapid weight gain;
• Slow heart rate

Warnings and Interactions

To make sure Corgard is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have: asthma; a serious heart condition such as "AV block" or severe heart failure; if your heart cannot pump blood properly; coronary artery disease; congestive heart failure; a thyroid disorder; kidney disease; diabetes; or a history of allergies. If you have allergic reactions to different substances, your reactions may be worse while you are using Corgard, and your allergic reactions may not respond to the usual doses of injectable epinephrine. You should not take Corgard if you are allergic to nadolol or any other ingredients of this medicine. Your blood pressure should be checked regularly to determine your response to Corgard.

Before taking Corgard tell your doctor about all medicines you have used within the past 5 weeks. The following drugs should not be used while you are taking Corgard:
• Digoxin, digitalis;
• Insulin or oral diabetes medicine;
• Reserpine, or other blood pressure medications.

Corgard may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert. Drinking alcohol can further lower your blood pressure and may increase certain side effects of Corgard. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using this medicine. It is not known whether Corgard will harm an unborn baby. This medicine may cause heart or lung problems in a newborn if the mother takes the medicine during pregnancy. Corgard can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. You should not breast-feed while taking Corgard.
