Product Details

Proamatine (Midodrine Hydrochloride) is used for the treatment of low blood pressure that causes severe dizziness or a light-headed feeling. Midodrine is known as an alpha receptor agonist that acts on the blood vessels to raise blood pressure. It works by narrowing the blood vessels and increasing blood pressure. Proamatine is only used when low blood pressure affects your daily life.

The common side effects may include chills or goosebumps, dizziness, headache, increased urination, nausea and numbness or tingling. The serious side effects may include:

• Anxiety;
• Confusion;
• Dangerously high blood pressure;
• Fainting;
• Pressure or fullness in the head;
• Slow heartbeat;
• Unusual feeling in the chest;
• Vision problems;
• Weakness

You should not take Proamatine if you are allergic to Midodrine or if you have any other allergies. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you take including OTC and herbal medications. This medication may make you dizzy or drowsy or blur your vision. Alcohol or marijuana can make you more dizzy or drowsy. You should not drive or do any activity that requires you to be alert. Limit alcoholic beverages. This medication should not be used during pregnancy. If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, talk to your doctor right away. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk.
