Usage

Doxoteva (Doxorubicin hydrochloride) is a prescription medication used to treat cancer of the blood (Hodgkin's lymphoma and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma), bladder, breast, stomach, lungs, ovaries, thyroid, nerves, kidneys, bones, and soft tissues, including muscles and tendon. Doxorubicin is also used alone and with other medications to treat certain types of thyroid cancer and soft tissue or bone sarcomas (AIDS-related Kaposi's Sarcoma). Doxoteva may be combined with bortezomib in patients with multiple myeloma who have received at least one prior therapy or have not previously received bortezomib. The active ingredient in Doxoteva is Doxorubicin hydrochloride. Doxorubicin hydrochloride belongs to a class of drugs called anthracyclines (Antineoplastics). It works by damaging the DNA in cancer cells and interfering with their ability to replicate, and as a result, it stops the growth of cancer cells in the body.

Keep all appointments with your doctor and the laboratory. Your doctor will order specific tests to check your body's response to doxorubicin.
