Durolane Syringe Information

Durolane Syringe Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers Durolane Syringe from Canada manufactured by Bioventus Cooperatief. The generic version is not available. Our customers may also purchase other Arthritis and anti-inflammatory medications at huge savings.

Dosage

Durolane Syringe is available in the strength of 60 mg/3 ml vial.

Usage

Durolane Syringe (Hyaluronic Acid) is a prescription injection treatment to relieve the pain in joints caused by osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee in patients who have failed to respond adequately to conservative non-pharmacological therapy or simple analgesics, e.g., acetaminophen. The active ingredient in the Durolane syringe is Hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid belongs to the class of drugs called Hyaluronan (Glycosaminoglycan). Hyaluronic acid is similar to a substance that occurs naturally in the joints. It works by acting like a lubricant and shock absorber in the joints and helps the joints to work properly. Joints affected by arthritis may have less sodium hyaluronate, thus reducing the cushioning and lubrication in those joints.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Durolane Syringe are erythema, discolouration, joint pain, mild pain, warmth, and swelling at the injection site, muscle pain or stiffness and itching.

Stop using Durolane Syringe and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Aggravated osteoarthritis;
• Arthralgia (knee pain);
• Arthropathy;
• Arthrosis;
• Bursitis;
• Joint (knee) effusion, stiffness, swelling;
• Localized osteoarthritis;
• Pain in limb;
• Paranesthesia;
Phlebitis;
• Severe pruritis;
• Severe injection site oedema, erythema, pain, reaction;
• Tendonitis

Warnings and Interactions

If you are allergic to hyaluronic acid, you should not be given a Durolane injection. You should not receive the medication if you have an active infection in the affected joint or the skin around the joint. Durolane syringe should only be injected into the diseased knee joint by an authorized Doctor or Pharmacist familiar with intra-articular injection techniques and in facilities well suited for intra-articular injections. Avoid strenuous activity within 48hrs after injection.

Before you start using Durolane Syringe, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
• Allergic to the medication;
• Infections at the knee joints;
• Skin diseases at the injection site;
• Pregnant or breastfeeding

Tell your doctor about all the medications you use, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Inform your healthcare provider if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if Durolane Syringe passes into your breast milk. There are currently no known drug contraindications with Durolane. This means that there are currently no other medications that contraindicate its use in osteoarthritis patients. Kindly talk to your doctor or pharmacist about the possible risk that might occur due to other medicines.
