Edurant Information

Edurant Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers the brand Edurant from Canada manufactured by Janssen-Ortho. The generic equivalent of Edurant is not available. Our customers may also purchase other AIDS Medications, HIV Treatments such as Atripla and Truvada.

Dosage

The brand Edurant is available in the strength of 25 mg tablets.

Usage

Edurant (Rilpivirine) is a prescription medicine that is used with other antiretroviral medicines to treat Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV-1) in people 12 years of age and older and who weigh at least 35 kg and who have never taken HIV medicines before, and have an amount of HIV-1 in their blood that is no more than 100,000 copies/mL. Edurant is sometimes used with a medicine called cabotegravir as a daily "lead-in dose" to help determine that you can safely use a combination form of these medicines given as a monthly injection. Edurant and cabotegravir may also be given short-term in place of the monthly injectable combination for up to 2 months. It is not known if Edurant is safe and effective in children less than 12 years of age or who weigh less than 35 kg. Take Edurant every day exactly as your healthcare provider tells you to. Take Edurant with a meal. A protein drink alone does not replace a meal. Do not change your dose or stop taking Edurant without first talking with your healthcare provider. If you take an H2-receptor antagonist (famotidine, cimetidine, nizatidine, or ranitidine), you should take these medicines at least 12 hours before or at least 4 hours after you take Edurant. If you take antacids, or other products that contain aluminum, calcium carbonate, or magnesium hydroxide, you should take these medicines at least 2 hours before or at least 4 hours after you take Edurant. When your supply of Edurant starts to run low, get more from your healthcare provider or pharmacy. It is important not to run out of Edurant. The amount of HIV in your blood may increase if the medicine is stopped even for a short time.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Edurant are depression; headache, trouble sleeping (insomnia); rash; changes in the shape or location of body fat.

Stop using Edurant and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Changes in your immune system (Immune Reconstitution Syndrome);
• Changes in body fat;
• Depression or mood changes (feeling sad or hopeless; feeling anxious or restless; have thoughts of hurting yourself or have tried to hurt yourself);
