Usage

Ofev (Nintedanib Esylate) is a prescription medication used to treat a variety of lung tissue disorders including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, and adenocarcinoma types of lung cancers. These are lung diseases that cause stiffening and scarring of the lung parenchyma making it difficult to breathe well. When used in combination with docetaxel, Ofev can stop the growth and the spread of these lung cancer cells. The active ingredient in Ofev is Nintedanib Esylate. Nintedanib Esylate belongs to a group of drugs called tyrosine kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking blocks a protein called tyrosine kinase which is involved in the formation of scar tissue in the lungs. This helps lower the lung symptoms people with interstitial lung diseases may have, such as shortness of breath and cough.
