CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers the generic Oxiconazole Nitrate Cream also called Oceral Cream from Turkey. Unfortunately, the brand Oxistat is not available. Dosage

The generic form of Oxistat (Oxiconazole Nitrate) is available only in the strength of 1 %/10 gm cream.

Usage

Oxistat (Oxiconazole Nitrate) is a topical prescription medication used to treat fungal infections such as Athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm. It is also effective as a topical treatment for skin infections such as tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis caused by fungi. The active ingredient in Oxistat is Oxiconazole Nitrate. Oxiconazole Nitrate belongs to the class of drugs called topical antifungal (azole antifungal). It works by altering cellular membranes, resulting in increased membrane permeability, secondary metabolic effects, and preventing the fungus's growth. Oxistat does not work for bacterial and viral infections.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Oxistat are skin itching, burning or stinging sensation, redness, irritation, rash, and folliculitis.

Stop using Oxistat and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Blistering;
• Oozing or bleeding;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash, itching, red, swollen, blistered, or peeling of the skin, wheezing, chest tightness, trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking;
• Swelling;
• Severe body itching;
• Very bad irritation at the site of application of Oxistat (oxiconazole lotion)

Warnings and Interactions

Before you start using Oxiconazole cream, it would be best to tell your doctor if you are allergic to it or other azole antifungals such as ketoconazole, miconazole, or other allergies. Oxistat creams are for topical external use and are not intended for eyes or intravaginal administration. Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, and other mucous membranes. You should apply Oxistat cream as directed by your doctor or dermatologist. Your condition will not clear faster, but side effects may be increased. Apply Oxiconazole cream sparingly in a thin film and rub gently into the cleansed, affected area. For hairy areas, use Oxiconazole lotion. Part hair, apply a small amount to the affected area, and rub in gently. Protect from washing, clothing, or rubbing until the medication has dried. Hair may be washed as usual but not immediately after applying the medication. You should consult your doctor if there are no positive changes in your symptoms despite compliance with your Oxistat topical cream.

Before you start using Oxistat, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
• Any other skin conditions such as onychomycosis, viral or bacterial infections of the skin;
• Generalized body rash;
• kidney problems;
• Liver problems

Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to get pregnant, or nurse a child. This medication should be used only if needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. This medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding. There may be a drug interaction between Oxistat and other drugs, such as levoketoconazole.
