Prograf Information

Prograf Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers the brand Prograf from Canada and Turkey manufactured by Astellas Pharma. The generic Tacrolimus Immediate Release is available from India also called Tacrograf by Biocon and Pangraf by Panacea Biotec. We also carry the generic Tacrolimus from Canada by a different manufacturer.

Dosage

The brand Prograf and its generic Tacrolimus Immediate Release capsules are available in the strength of 0.5 mg, 1 mg, and 5 mg.

Usage

Prograf (Tacrolimus) is a prescription medication used to prevent your body from rejecting a heart, liver, lung, or kidney transplant. Organ rejection happens when the immune system treats the new organ as an invader and attacks it. The active substance in Prograf is Tacrolimus. Prograf belongs to a class of drugs called Immunosuppressants. It works as an anti-rejection medicine. Prograf helps patients who have had an organ transplant protect their new organ and prevent it from being rejected by the body.

Side Effects and Precautions

The most common side effects of Prograf include diarrhea, cough, headache, fever, tremors, constipation, insomnia, stomach upset, loss of appetite.

Stop using Prograf capsules and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the severe side effects such as:
• Chest pain, shortness of breath, trouble breathing;

This drug may increase your potassium levels. Before using potassium supplements or salt substitutes containing potassium, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
