Product Details

Xadago (Safinamide Methansulfonate) is a prescription that is used to treat the symptoms of Parkinsons’s disease which is caused by too little dopamine in the brain. Safinamide is classified as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor type B (MAO-B)as MAO inhibitors. This medication works by increasing the levels of chemicals such as dopamine in the body. Xadagois given in combination with levodopa and carbidopa to treat muscle stiffness and problems with muscle control associated with the “wearing-off” episodes.

Anaphylactic allergic reaction can happen in some cases. You must seek emergency medical attention if you experience the following signs: difficulty breathing, hives, rash, swelling of the face, tongue, lips, or throat.

The common side effects may include dizziness, fall, insomnia, and involuntary muscle control. . The serious side effects may include:
• Fainting;
• Loss of balance;
• Confusion, mental or mood changes;
• Unusual strong urges for gamble or sexual urges;
• Worsening muscle stiffness or twitching;
• Hallucinations;
• Seizures;
• Elevated blood pressure

You should not take Xadago if you are allergic to Safinamide Methansulfonate or if you have any other allergies. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you take including OTC and herbal medications. This medication may make you drowsy or dizzy. Alcohol or marijuana can make you more drowsy or dizzy. Limit alcoholic beverages. This medication should only be used during pregnancy unless it is clearly needed. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breast-feeding a baby. There may be an interaction between bupropion, buspirone, carbamazepine, tetrabenazine, migraine headaches and valbenazine, etc.
